Making the Spooky Snack Mix

First, you need to make the “spooky” part of the mix – mummy pretzels. Ooohhhh!

Ok, so they aren’t that spooky, but they are fun!

Mummy Pretzels

Melt the white chocolate in the medium bowl in the microwave. Remember to go slow with this process, or you’ll over cook the chocolate. Start with about 1 minute on high, but watch it closely. Stir, and then put it back in for 20-30 seconds. When it’s smooth, it’s ready.

One (or a few) at a time, submerge the pretzels into the chocolate and use the fork to fish them out of the chocolate. Place them on the wax paper to harden.

Now melt a little more white chocolate in the small bowl in the microwave. You’ll put this chocolate into your sandwich bag and snip the corner off the bag. Once the chocolate covering the pretzels is hardened, drizzle the additional chocolate over the pretzels to look like a mummy. Your kids will love this part so let them have fun with it! Finally for the mummy pretzels, let this layer of chocolate dry.

Easy! Try some of these changes to take your mix from Halloween into whatever season you prefer.

• Cover the pretzels in chocolate, but don’t add the drizzle. All the flavor without all the “Mummies” in your mix.
• After Halloween and need to use up some candy? Chop candy bars into smaller pieces and stir them in.
• Want it to look more like fall? Use mellowcreme pumpkins.
• Change up the flavors by adding some popcorn. Of course, drizzling the popcorn with some chocolate is never a bad idea.
